Wilderness Trip Details

Dates: Both of these trips begin and end at Wyonegonic Camps in Denmark, ME.

Kayaking Trip July 6th - 18th, 2008 Backpacking Trip July 26th - August 8th, 2008

Cost: The cost for Kayak trip is $2500 and the Backpacking trip is $2000.

Options: It is possible to combine one of these trips with a session in camp if you are entering the 10th or if you are in our Assistant Counselor program. Please contact the Wyonegonic Office for more information.

Eligibility: Any girl entering the 10th grade in 2008 or older. Trippers must have outdoor skills, a hunger for adventure, a desire to conquer challenges with a small group and be in good physical condition.

What to expect after registration: Upon acceptance to the program, participants will be mailed a packet of pertinent information that will include:

• Trip specific packing list
• Health evaluation and history signed by a doctor
• Parent’s signature forms
• Biography of trip leaders

The trip leaders will have qualifications that include:

• Certified Maine State Trip Leader
• A minimum of Wilderness First Aid
• American Red Cross Lifeguard
• American Canoe Association Instructor
• Prior trip leading experience with small groups
• Team building and facilitator training
