Wyonegonic Facility

Waterfront (Medium)Wyonegonic is located in the southwestern mountains of Maine on Moose Pond. The camp has 800 acres of pine forest with extensive lake frontage on twelve mile long Moose Pond. We are one hour west of Portland and three hours north of Boston. Moose Pond is an exceptional body of water for swimming, sailing, canoeing and sail boarding. We have two self-contained camps; one facility for our teenagers in Senior Camp;  one for our younger campers in Junior/ Intermediate. We are close to the White Mountains of New Hampshire which offer incredible hiking opportunities for our camps.

Cabin Exterior (Medium)02The campers spend the summer in rustic lakeside cabins which have screened windows and doors. Shutters hoist up during the day for views of the water and to let in fresh breezes. The shutters can close at night or during foul weather. Campers and staff use flashlights or battery powered lanterns at night as the sleeping cabins do not have electricity. Toilet and shower facilities are conveniently centralized a short walk from the cabins. Campers bring a trunk or footlocker to camp for storage of personal belongings at the foot of their bed. A shelf for each camper and a few coat-hooks are also available in each cabin.

Inside Sr Cabin (Medium)02 Junior and Intermediate campers live in large duplex style cabins with a central wall dividing each side. Two cabin-groups of four to six campers and their counselors live in the duplex divided by a central wall. In Senior, each cabin houses one cabin-group of five campers and their counselor. Campers are responsible for cleaning their cabins after breakfast every day. The Honor Cabin is awarded to the cleanest group each week.

Dining Hall (Medium)The Cobb Lodge is our dining facility, named after the camp’s founding  family. It is a timber frame design and was built in 2001. Breakfast and dinner are served family style. Table assignments of eight campers and two staff rotate on a weekly basis. Each day, campers and staff eat a  buffet lunch which is enjoyed outdoors on our wraparound porch.
