   Frequently Asked Questions

When do I need to submit an application for 2006 or a future summer? You may submit an application at any time. All applications are date sensitive. Therefore, it is advantageous for a family to move quickly if they have made up their mind that Wyonegonic is the best camp for their daughter.

If my daughter is attending the first three and a half week session and she decides that she wants to stay at camp for seven weeks, is that possible? It is highly unlikely as we expect that both sessions will be filled so it is necessary to make your commitment at time of enrollment.

Is it difficult for a new camper to start her Wyonegonic experience in the second session? No, staff and seven week campers welcome new campers and this assists them in adjusting quickly. Our seven week campers play a big role in this process.

Can my daughter be in a cabin with her best friend from home? We give careful consideration to cabin assignments. One of the purposes of camp is to meet new people from different places. Therefore, we avoid placing best friends in the same cabin.

Are there toilets and electricity in the sleeping cabins? There is no electricity in camper cabins but all main buildings have power. Toilets are centralized and conveniently located.

How does the wait list system work? Receipt of applications and deposit are confirmed by the Wyonegonic Office. If space is not available at your daughter’s grade level, she is placed on a wait list. Wait listed applicants are contacted when space becomes available. The wait list is grade, session and date sensitive.

If my daughter has an older sister in camp, do we get special consideration? If I am an alumna does my daughter move to the top of the wait list? We do not give preference. All applications are date sensitive.

How will we know if our application is accepted? After we assess our returning camper registrations in the fall, we notify the applicants on the wait list by early November to inform them of availability or continued wait list status.

What are her chances if my daughter is wait listed? Most new campers come in at the youngest and oldest ages. We have a high percentage of returning campers. Please contact the Wyonegonic Office for current availability.

If you call with an opening during the school year and we have made other plans for 2006 can we defer for a future summer? Just call us so we know your thoughts. We can note that you choose to defer and your wait list status with your original date will carry over.

If you have any questions that are not covered here, please contact the Wyonegonic Office.
