American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguard Training
Includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED & First Aid
Please note that the ARC Waterfront Lifeguarding Course and Challenges include the new material released January 2007.
Dates:
#1 Monday June 2nd 1 PM to Friday June 6th 5 PM #2 Saturday June 7th 1 PM to Wednesday June 11th 5 PM #3 Thursday June 12th 1 PM to Wednesday June 16th 5 PM
Cost: $295
Purpose: To be a trained waterfront lifeguard with rescue and first aid skills.
Prerequisites:
- The minimum age is 15
- All Aquatic School Program prerequisites apply
- Only participants who pass the practical pre-test will be allowed to continue the course.
- Pre-test includes:
Surface dive underwater (7 - 10 ft) for a 10 pound object and swim 20 yards with object (timed)
- 550 yard continuous swim including compulsory 200 yard continuous crawl/freestyle
- Submerged 15 yard underwater swim while retrieving diving rings.
Certification: American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguard Training and First Aid (3 years); CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (1 year).
